Dog In Hand: Level 1
BEGINNER OBEDIENCE
starting at $300
Getting your “Dog In Hand” means that you are at the beginning of cooperation. We want our dogs to see us a their leader so that they actively choose willing obedience. Not through coercion or force, but through that thing that every one is after - a real bond with their dog.
The goal from day one is to do everything to enhance the bond and not look at just the symptoms. Once you become an emotionally stable leader for you dog the issues melt away.
We will teach you proper leash work, physical (hand signals), verbal (voice commands) and the king of communication, proper body language.
Your dog will learn a solid foundation of commands, including:
Sit, Auto Sit, Stay, Recall, Leave it, Down, Place, Heel, Stand, and OK/Free..
Beyond the Leash: Level 2
INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE
Starting from day one it is my goal to help you get Beyond the Leash. An off leash dog is about being dedicated to the process and it is not about the tools or making the dog come to you. It is about convincing your dog that you are the best place to be.
Clients often hear me say “Discipline Equals Freedom,” a term made popular by Jocko Willink of the Jacko Podcast. This does not have anything to do with disciplining your dog. It has to do with you as the Leader of your team having the discipline to be clear and consistent with your dog at all times, so he knows what is expected of him. This is where the underlying philosophy of In The Flow K9 comes into play.
There is no one method or one tool to make this happen, but the path is clear, and it is about you being the person that your dog wants to follow!
Living with the Pack:
BOARD + TRAIN PACKAGE
Rates starting at $250/day
This option is available in some cases in the winter months. Your dog will live with me and my pack.
One of the areas I see clients struggle with is when leaving the training ground, how to carry this over into the everyday life.
With dogs it is simple; you have the option of chaos or control. The training doesn’t stop, it is important to ingrain the habits you want in your dog when all too often our dogs shape our behavior and we are always reacting to them.
This is where proper kennel training comes in to help you keep your dog safe from developing habits that you are then always reacting to.
“Don’t let your dog do anything that makes you not like them” This gets solved by being clear with your dog, managing them appropriately, which means when you can’t engage with your dog this is when your management strategy comes into play. Teach your dog that the kennel is the second best place to be.
Existing clients have access to short term Board & Train services. New clients require a 3 week minimum.
